Gary Khachatrian also known as Eight started his love of fabrication and art from a very young age. Growing up in a family where working with your hands was encouraged, Eight started working with wood in high school. His passion with woodwork was evident early on. Soon after, Eight began his journey into metals. With an obsessive fervor, he immersed himself into the world of welding. Starting with furniture he honed his technique from larger pieces into tiny welds. Perfection of his craft lead him to experiment with all types of metals creating the most unusual pieces some of which contained over a 100 fabricated parts. His vision was to make art that would challenge how people saw everyday objects. He is inspired by current culture, pop art, and comics. His enormous collection occupies every surface of his studio.
Eight currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
